The Daly Homestead 1

From 2002-2009 this was our home in Elk Springs (Glenwood Springs), post-RVing and pre-Eagle.

For 4 years dalys.com was our way of sharing the experiences of our RVing with “old” and new friends around the world.

Then dalys.com took on a new “life” to share the joys (and frustrations!) of our log home building project. If interested you can take a “virtual tour” of our log home, which we absolutely love.

Thanks to our great business, the freedom we have also includes financial freedom. This is just as well, since the cost of living in the most beautiful mountain regions of Colorado is much higher than in Dallas, and when completed, our “log cabin” cost 3 times the price we sold our Dallas home for in 1997.

Our log home project was conceived in the autumn of 1999 when we found Elk Springs, and purchased Lot 42, which was destined to become “The Daly Homestead” – our dream log home.

For the entire year 2000 we researched log home manufacturers, spoke with countless professional builders, reviewed many plans, etc.

We finally broke ground in May, hoping to move in by Thanksgiving … we finally occupied our “homestead” in Feb. 2002.

The watchwords for our project come from Psalm 127:1, “Unless the Lord builds the house, its builders labor in vain…”, and John 15:5, “Apart from me, you can do nothing.” With no apologies to our earthly friends and professionals, God was our realtor, our architect, and is our master builder. He is definitely in charge!

God bless,

Our Home from Home
